Brief Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi
On arrival, you will be met and transferred to the SOUTHERN SUN MAYFAIR HOTEL or similar for your overnight stay.

Day 2: Nairobi – Samburu
After breakfast, drive north to the edge of the vast semidesert lands of Samburu, in time for lunch. The afternoon is spent with a game drive spotting reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich and other flora and fauna. Two nights at SAMBURU LODGE or similar. (B, L, D)

Day 3: Samburu
Morning game drive in the reserve where game abounds, especially in the forest near the Uaso Nyiro River. Early afternoon is at your leisure, before a late afternoon game drive. Return to your lodge by sundown. (B, L, D)

Day 4: Samburu – Lake Nakuru
After breakfast you will be driven past the northern tip of the Aberdare Mountains to Lake Nakuru – a park noted for its huge concentration of flamingoes. After lunch, you will be taken on a late afternoon game drive, which returns to the lodge by sundown. Overnight SAROVA LION HILL LODGE or similar. (B, L, D)

Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara
Today you will depart early for your drive to the Masai Mara stopping for lunch en-route. Famous for the enormous herds of wildebeest and zebra, which migrate every year from July to September, the Mara supports a wide variety of animals such as topi, giraffe, elephant, buffalo, rhino and hippo. Predators here include black maned lions, cheetah, leopard and hyena. Two nights at MARA SERENA LODGE or similar. (B, L, D)

Day 6: Masai Mara Game Reserve
Morning and afternoon game viewing in the Masai Mara. (B, L, D)

Day 7: Masai Mara – Serengeti
Drive to the Isebania border to meet your ATS Tanzanian driver/ guide. After border formalities, you will proceed on safari with lunch en route. On the way down through the Serengeti you will enjoy game viewing before arriving at the lodge. Two nights SERENGETI SERENA LODGE or similar. (B, L, D)

Day 8: Serengeti
Today you will be taken on a morning game drive, returning to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy another game drive to explore the park. (B, L, D)

Day 9: Serengeti – Ngorongoro
Following breakfast you will depart via Olduvai Gorge for Ngorongoro Crater where you will spend two nights at NGORONGORO SERENA LODGE or similar. (B, L, D)

Day 10: Ngorongoro
Today you will be taken into the crater for an almost all day safari, with a picnic lunch. Ngorongoro Crater is the only “living” caldera in the world and is home to thousands of animals that live within the crater walls. (B, L, D)

Day 11: Ngorongoro – Lake Manyara
Today you will depart for Lake Manyara National Park reaching your lodge in time for lunch. Lake Manyara Serena is situated on an escarpment, overlooking the Great Rift Valley and Lake Manyara. Afternoon game drive in the Park, famous for its elephants, tree climbing lions, spectacular hippo pools and birdlife. Overnight LAKE MANYARA SERENA LODGE. (B, L, D)

Day 12: Lake Manyara – Nairobi
Today you will be driven back to Arusha for lunch before crossing the border back to Kenya. Proceed to Nairobi, arriving late afternoon. Overnight the SOUTHERN SUN MAYFAIR HOTEL. (B, L)

Day 13: Depart
Day at leisure to explore Nairobi or do some last minute shopping at the markets, before your transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and the end of your safari. (B)
